I always find it a real challenge to find drama games that keep my young performers engaged and interested, they are aged from 7-10 and require a great deal of dramatic stimulus to keep them engaged and interested for an hour’s drama session – this combination of drama games from drama menu gave my young performers such a positive experience, they had so much fun and were constantly challenged and creatively stimulated by these high energy / creative drama games – if you have a group of young performers of a similar age to mine I would highly recommend this combination of drama games to provide a creative and fulfilling drama session. To start my drama lesson plan, I played two very physical activities that allowed every child to contribute creatively, something I think that set the class off to a great start and gave the students a real sense of confidence due to their creative input. That tone of physical, energetic games continued throughout the drama lesson plan with exercises that challenged their group playing abilities and I found that setting tight deadlines for them to complete the work in kept the learning on track and kept their energy / creativity focused. For the MAIN COURSE, they absolutely loved THE POTION – they had so much fun with it! Again, I set quite a short rehearsal time (10 / 15 minutes) which made them work quickly and creatively with their fellow group members and the results were a real joy to watch. What a great drama lesson plan – I will go back to it very soon!
