Great for focusing the energy of a particularly rowdy bunch or for drawing a physically connected and energised performance from those less confident performers. The ENERGY CIRCLE and HANDS OF POWER are a great set up to the rest of the class as they get the class physically and vocally engaged and working in partnership with one another . . . They proved to be great preparation for the CHAIN ARGUMENT and 3 PHYSICAL LEVELS. . . Make sure that you ask the players to make the transition into the 3 levels as natural / believable as possible . . . that wasn’t always the case in my class! And if you have a particularly energised class, make it very clear before the start of the chain argument that no physical contact is allowed as some players can get very much into their bodies during this exercise! All in all though, this combination provided a very focused and energetic class with some highly dynamic, creative and visually interesting work. The Lie Sit & Stand game provided some great results (after some initial coaching was offered) and proved to be the perfect theatre game to finish such an energetic drama class.
