The combination of drama games were excellent for getting the students concentrated and focused . . . I also used theatre game 44 – 1 Minute Focus (after Someone Else’s number) – this worked really well as the students were already becoming focused after the initial two drama / concentration games so, using the 1 minute focus exercise cemented the tone of the class and led to some excellent, focused drama class work. Spotlights was a very effective exercise for encouraging players to keep focused and to cue in fast . . . this idea of ‘focus’ (taking and switching) was taken into the final exercise which produced some amazing, electric theatre.
